Apple held a competition where the person who downloaded the 25 billionth app would receive a 10,000 dollar gift card. Our goal was to figure out when we should start downloading to win. We started at Friday February 24, 6:27 pm. It was currently at 24,658,507,655 downloads. I measured how many downloads per minute, between 6:27 – 6:30 pm. I add them up and divide by 3 to equal 34211. I took that, and multiplied it by 60 to get the downloads per hour. I took that number (2,052,660) and multiplied it by 24 to get the downloads per day which was 49,263,840. I took 25,000,000,000 and subtracted 24,658,507,655 to get the number of downloads need left to get 25 billion. it was 341,492,343. I took that and divided it by the downloads per day (49,263,840.). I got a very long decimal (the 1st 4 digits being 6.931. ) So that’s how many days until its over. 6 days from February 24 is March 2nd and the .931 from the number would make the time around 9-10 pm because we started at 6:27 pm. You should start downloading at March 2nd 8:00-9:00 pm.
